Joyous Union: Mr. Femi Adesope, IDF Gen. Sec. Ties the Knot with Darling Wife in Glorious Ceremony
The Methodist Church Nigeria, Cathedral of Light, Agodi, Ibadan, was adorned with love and laughter as Mr. Femi Adesope and his beloved wife, Odunayo Tolulope, exchanged vows in a heartwarming wedding ceremony.
The venue, brimming with friends and family, radiated with warmth and jubilation as they witnessed the union of two souls deeply in love. Among the esteemed guests were members of the Ibarapa Development Forum, where Mr. Femi Adesope serves as the general secretary, and members of People’s Conscience where Mr Femi Adesope serves as a regular contributor, all demonstrating the widespread support and well wishes for the newlyweds.

Olagbenro Justina Wins 2022 Miss Ibarapa Beauty Contest
Olagbenro Justina, who is a native of Igangan in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State, was declared the winner of the 2022 Ibarapa Beauty Contest on Monday, December 26, 2022, having defeated her counterparts from other communities within the region.
The graduate of Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, after a successful audition in December, went ahead to defeat her counterparts at the grand finale.
Gbadero Okiki Kehinde emerged as the first runner-up, while Ojebode Odunayo emerged as the second runner-up. The duo were conferred Miss Culture Ibarapa and Miss Ibarapa Top Model, respectively.
The event, which was held at the Heritage Resorts Hotel in Igboora, was the second of its kind since 2020.
The Miss Ibarapa Beauty Contest is always held simultaneously with the Ibarapa Merit Award.
The Ibarapa Merit Award is a ceremony to celebrate and honour individuals and organisations whose standards and meritorious excellence are worthy of recognition.
Welcoming the dignitaries to the event hall, the convener of the Ibarapa Merit Award/Ibarapa Miss Contest, Olajire Anifowose, said the Ibarapa Merit Award is aimed at unifying Ibarapa as a whole.
According to him, “To be honest, a true African will feel nostalgic in this kind of environment; in all colours, I can see everyone in their native attire; this is an attestation that our culture is definitely our heritage.”
“This event aims at unifying Ibarapa as a whole; we need to come together in order to bring development to our region.”
“If Ibarapa will be greater than the present, it is our responsibility to be united and be in harmony with our compatriots; remember that “United we stand and divided we fall.”
“As a brand, we believe one of the most important pathways to community development is unity; without it, we can’t grow as a people, but to the glory of God today, this event has been able to achieve almost all our targets. For the first time in our history, Ibarapa gathered as one, and today again we are in the same spirit, repeating history. On our page, we have been able to gather half a million people reading about Ibarapa land, our cultural heritage, and most importantly, our tourist destination through the Ibarapa Merit Award,” he said.
Announcing the individuals and organisations who made Ibarapa proud on all fronts throughout the year 2022, the Dominic Akinjide Fagbemi Foundation emerged as Charity Organization of the Year, Hon. Olusegun Okanlawon won the Humanitarian Personality Award, Adegbenjo Adedimeji was announced as the Philanthropist Icon of the Year, Eunik Clothing received the Award of Excellence in Fashion, Peoples Conscience won the Ibarapa Blog of the Year Award, the Award of Excellence in Health was given to Dr. Adabanija, the duo of Hon. Bayo Aderounmu and Hon. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju received Special Recognition Awards, while Olaniyan Tobi received the On Air Personality Award.
The Father of the Day, Hon. Tokunbo Adewale Toriola, in his remarks, enjoined the newly emerged queens to use their offices to foster peace as well as commit themselves to a cause that is capable of contributing to the growth and development of Ibarapa Land.
Tokunbo maintained that with unity of purpose, the Ibarapa region will become a hub for infrastructural development, urging the youth not to relent on their oars.
In his own speech, the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency in the 2023 general elections, Hon. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, commended the organisers of the event while urging residents of Ibarapa Land to contribute their quota to the development of Ibarapa Land.
After giving the honour to crown the newly emerged queen, the House of Representatives Candidate, however, promised the sum of N100,000 to the newly emerged queen and the sum of N20,000 each for the rest of the five contestants who made it to the grand finale.
The event was well attended by people from all walks of life, including representatives of the Oyo State Government, candidates of various political parties in the region, and traditional rulers.

Breaking: PremPremMusic Picks Venue for 2022 Ibarapa Merit Award, Beauty Contest
The management of PremPremMusic has picked Heritage Resort, Igboora, as the venue for the second edition of the Ibarapa Merit Award and Miss Ibarapa Beauty Contest.
The Ibarapa Merit Award is a ceremony to celebrate and honour individuals and organisations whose standards and meritorious excellence are worthy of recognition.
In a statement made available to Peoples Conscience on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, and signed by its secretary, Lasunsi Motunrayo read, in part:
“After a series of deliberations,
“We hereby announce Igboora as the host town for the second edition of the Ibarapa Merit Award/Miss Ibarapa Beauty Contest 2022.”
“PremPremMusic has resolved to make Heritage Resort, Igoora, the venue for this prestigious and most anticipated event.”
“Moreso, it is a logical decision as Igboora is chosen as a place where the seven towns in Ibarapa Land can converge with convenience, especially our brothers and sisters coming from Igangan and Lanlate.
PremPremMusic said its team had visited the chosen venue for necessary inspections, adding that the Ibarapa Merit Award is a driving force in uniting the people of the region.
“As a brand organising this prestigious event to unite us as a region, we have relayed our decision to necessary stakeholders and every well-meaning indigene of Ibarapa Land in the spirit of oneness, unity, and love.”
“Finally, we are reaching out to everyone to give this broader publicity for massive clarification on the choice of venue.”
The organisers of the event also assured everyone that the venue for the Ibarapa Merit Award and Miss Ibarapa Beauty Contest is rotational, stressing that all communities in Ibarapa Land are potential hosts of the event.
“However, subsequent editions will be taken to another town. As we are all aware, it was Idere’s turn in 2020; now it’s Igboora town, and who knows whose turn it will be in other editions? With this, it will cover other towns in Ibarapa Land.
The Ibarapa Merit Award/Miss Beauty Contest has been scheduled to take place on December 26, 2022.
The organisers had commenced voting into different categories of its awards on December 9, 2022, with December 13, 2022, as the deadline.
The organisers also said it had received over 3,000 votes since the exercise commenced last Friday.
The organisation also assured the public that it would only award deserving personalities its non-voting category award.
