Miss Ibarapa 2022: Organisers Unveil Faces of Contestants
The body in charge of the Ibarapa Merit Award/Ibarapa Beauty Contest, PremPremMusic, has unveiled the faces of the contestants for Miss Ibarapa 2022.
PremPremMusic unveiled the faces of the participants on Thursday, October 27, 2022.
Ibarapa Merit Award/Ibarapa Beauty Contest is a ceremony to celebrate and honour individuals and organisations whose standards and meritorious excellence are worthy of recognition. It is aimed at rewarding a range of skills, knowledge, talents and abilities.
The initiative is put together to celebrate well-deserved personalities across all walks of life, which includes: sports, tourism, entrepreneurship, education, entertainment, media, politics, associations, fashion, youth, among others.
Peoples Conscience understands that each of the seven principal towns in the region has a representative in the upcoming beauty contest, in contrast to the first edition of the initiative, where Idere, Tapa, and Ayete didn’t have participants in the Miss Beauty Category at the grand finale.
The contestants, as seen by PC through the official Facebook page of Ibarapa Merit Award, are: Justina Olagbenro (Igangan), Bisola Olatunji (Ayete), Olajide Fathia (Lanlate), Victoria Egunjobi (Igboora), Aisha Oseni (Eruwa), Funke Ayanleke (Ayete), Kehinde Gbadebo (Idere), and Odunayo Ojebode (Tapa).
However, PremPremMusic also said it would soon allow nominations of various individuals and organisations for different categories of awards.
The first edition of the Ibarapa Merit Award/Ibarapa Beauty Contest was held on December 26, 2020 in Idere, Ibarapa Central local government area of Oyo State, where Adeyemo Labake, an indigene of Igboora in Ibarapa Central, was crowned the first ever Miss Ibarapa, defeating other contestants from Eruwa, Lanlate, and Igangan.
She was an undergraduate student of the Oke-Ogun Polytechnic at the time.
PremPremMusic has also fixed the second edition of the Ibarapa Beauty Contest to Monday, December 26, 2022, the same day as the Ibarapa Merit Award, with the venue yet to be announced.

Joyous Union: Mr. Femi Adesope, IDF Gen. Sec. Ties the Knot with Darling Wife in Glorious Ceremony
The Methodist Church Nigeria, Cathedral of Light, Agodi, Ibadan, was adorned with love and laughter as Mr. Femi Adesope and his beloved wife, Odunayo Tolulope, exchanged vows in a heartwarming wedding ceremony.

Olagbenro Justina Wins 2022 Miss Ibarapa Beauty Contest
Olagbenro Justina, who is a native of Igangan in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State, was declared the winner of the 2022 Ibarapa Beauty Contest on Monday, December 26, 2022, having defeated her counterparts from other communities within the region.
The graduate of Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, after a successful audition in December, went ahead to defeat her counterparts at the grand finale.
Gbadero Okiki Kehinde emerged as the first runner-up, while Ojebode Odunayo emerged as the second runner-up. The duo were conferred Miss Culture Ibarapa and Miss Ibarapa Top Model, respectively.
The event, which was held at the Heritage Resorts Hotel in Igboora, was the second of its kind since 2020.
The Miss Ibarapa Beauty Contest is always held simultaneously with the Ibarapa Merit Award.
The Ibarapa Merit Award is a ceremony to celebrate and honour individuals and organisations whose standards and meritorious excellence are worthy of recognition.
Welcoming the dignitaries to the event hall, the convener of the Ibarapa Merit Award/Ibarapa Miss Contest, Olajire Anifowose, said the Ibarapa Merit Award is aimed at unifying Ibarapa as a whole.
According to him, “To be honest, a true African will feel nostalgic in this kind of environment; in all colours, I can see everyone in their native attire; this is an attestation that our culture is definitely our heritage.”
“This event aims at unifying Ibarapa as a whole; we need to come together in order to bring development to our region.”
“If Ibarapa will be greater than the present, it is our responsibility to be united and be in harmony with our compatriots; remember that “United we stand and divided we fall.”
“As a brand, we believe one of the most important pathways to community development is unity; without it, we can’t grow as a people, but to the glory of God today, this event has been able to achieve almost all our targets. For the first time in our history, Ibarapa gathered as one, and today again we are in the same spirit, repeating history. On our page, we have been able to gather half a million people reading about Ibarapa land, our cultural heritage, and most importantly, our tourist destination through the Ibarapa Merit Award,” he said.
Announcing the individuals and organisations who made Ibarapa proud on all fronts throughout the year 2022, the Dominic Akinjide Fagbemi Foundation emerged as Charity Organization of the Year, Hon. Olusegun Okanlawon won the Humanitarian Personality Award, Adegbenjo Adedimeji was announced as the Philanthropist Icon of the Year, Eunik Clothing received the Award of Excellence in Fashion, Peoples Conscience won the Ibarapa Blog of the Year Award, the Award of Excellence in Health was given to Dr. Adabanija, the duo of Hon. Bayo Aderounmu and Hon. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju received Special Recognition Awards, while Olaniyan Tobi received the On Air Personality Award.
The Father of the Day, Hon. Tokunbo Adewale Toriola, in his remarks, enjoined the newly emerged queens to use their offices to foster peace as well as commit themselves to a cause that is capable of contributing to the growth and development of Ibarapa Land.
Tokunbo maintained that with unity of purpose, the Ibarapa region will become a hub for infrastructural development, urging the youth not to relent on their oars.
In his own speech, the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency in the 2023 general elections, Hon. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, commended the organisers of the event while urging residents of Ibarapa Land to contribute their quota to the development of Ibarapa Land.
After giving the honour to crown the newly emerged queen, the House of Representatives Candidate, however, promised the sum of N100,000 to the newly emerged queen and the sum of N20,000 each for the rest of the five contestants who made it to the grand finale.
The event was well attended by people from all walks of life, including representatives of the Oyo State Government, candidates of various political parties in the region, and traditional rulers.
